Trio Ernest

The Trio Ernest was founded in 2019 in Geneva and plays in concerts throughout Europe.
They are Artists in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, studying with Miguel da
Silva, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and the Artemis Quartet, and since October 2020 they are
Ensemble in Residence at ProQuartet-CEMC, Paris. They have been given awards in Paris
(FNAPEC European Competition), Zürich (Orpheus Competition) and in the Académie
Internationale Maurice Ravel.
The three musicians explore with passion and creativity the Piano Trio Repertoire in concert
series such as Swiss Chamber Music Festival, Schubertiades de Sion, Concerts du Méjan, and
in original projects that they develop themselves. In this context, they are lead to collaborate
with artists such as Noémie Bialobroda, (Aviv Quartet), Ophélie Gaillard, Patrick Genet
(Quatuor Sine Nomine), Patrick Jüdt, Stephan MacLeod, Gabriel Pidoux, Miguel da Silva,
Manuel Vioque-Judde, Orchestre Juventutti and the composer Carlos Roque Alsina, whose
piece Quasi Figurativo they will create in october 2020. During the summer of 2020, the Trio
imagined a Live Streaming concert series called “Ernest part en Live” as a consequence of
the Coronavirus pandemic. This initiative was then relayed by the RTS - Espace 2: “Young
formation on the rise [...] the Trio Ernest [plays] against bad fortune good concerts.”
The three musicians are used to play in prestigious festivals : Verbier Festival, Festival de La
Roque d’Anthéron, Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, Les Musicales de Colmar, Centre de
Musique de Chambre de Paris, Festival Jeunes Talents, Festival Ravel, Les Musicales de
Wesserling, Festival Sine Nomine, Festival Gaia, Piano en Saintonge. They have played in
halls such as la Grande Salle de la Philharmonie de Paris, the big hall of the KKL in Lucerne,
the Paul Klee Zentrum in Bern, the Salle Cortot in Paris. They have been heard on the radio,
on France Musique, Espace 2 or the BBC 3.
The Trio Ernest works regularly with Patrick Jüdt in Bern. It has also benefited from the
precious advice of the Trio Wanderer and Claire Desert at the Academie Ravel and in
ProQuartet formations. The Trio has been selected to join Le Dimore Del Quartetto network.
