Bach Fantasy
Christophe Rousset
AP010 - 1CD - 76' - Nov 4, 2010

Christophe Rousset is a world-renowned artist. Harpsichordist, conductor and musical director of the "Les Talens lyriques" ensemble, he has established himself as one of the greatest interpreters of Baroque music. Diapason d'or / Arte, his first recording for the Aparté label, dedicated to Louis Couperin, was warmly received by the public and garnered numerous distinctions in the international press. For this second recording, the maturing artist signs an original program, Bach Fantasy, an invitation to travel through little-known works and standards by J.S. Bach. From the famous Kantor, we know the Goldberg Variations, the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Suites and Partitas for harpsichord. But alongside these great collections and powerful masterpieces, posterity has bequeathed us numerous separate pieces, copied by his pupils and admirers, youthful essays, didactic pages or reflections of the emotion of the moment, and sometimes all together. Picking all these flowers offers us a marvellous bouquet... Christophe Rousset plays the Neuchâtel Ruckers harpsichord, one of the finest in the world.
